What is S.O.S?
S.O.S. (save OUR Stainmore) is an action group which has been set up by concerned residents and friends of the area affected by the wind factory proposal. We hope to be joined by everyone who has a love of this beautiful part of the world and who wishes to protect our unique environment. We also hope that anyone who wishes to protect AONBs and National Parks in England and Wales will join us in our opposition.
However S.O.S. intends to be much more than just an action group. We believe that the community in this area has a fantastic opportunity to work together to help the environment. We would like to look at a range of schemes to reduce our carbon footprint and become more environmentally friendly. Many ideas have already been suggested — some of them can be found on this site. Join us and let us know how you think we can work together to create a real community project. When our battle against the wind factory is won and and our beautiful environment is saved we hope that S.O.S will stand for Sustainability On Stainmore.
